Lisa Schultz offers a peaceful countryside setting nestled against the foothills of the Sierra Nevada Mountains. The Plantation has seven romantic-themed rooms which are named after characters from Gone with the Wind and are decorated accordingly. Imagine the fantasy of staying in the Scarlett O’Hara or Rhett Butler room. Known as the Mesa Verde Citrus Plantation over 100 years ago, the original house, built in 1880 out of large rocks gathered from the Kaweah River, is still standing next to the 4,300 square foot plantation home. The lush grounds that surround the home sport sweeping lawns, many huge ornamental trees including weeping willows, palms and crepe myrtles, fruit trees, shrubs and flowers. Adirondack chairs, loungers, a glider, and a large Jacuzzi hot tub allow you to relax and enjoy the birds and butterflies in a very peaceful setting. The swimming pool and Jacuzzi are open 24 hours a day, with the pool available from spring to fall and the Jacuzzi year round.
A full gourmet breakfast is prepared by Chef Lisa. Lisa is Chef Graduate of the Art Institute of Dallas where she received her culinary degree. Breakfast is served in the formal dining room or outside in the spacious garden courtyard overlooking the pool. The breakfast begins with fresh squeezed orange juice, followed by a buffet laden with fresh fruit, homemade granola, fresh baked culinary creations, and ends with a sumptuous hot entrée prepared by Chef Lisa. Guests enjoy murals painted on many of the plantation walls, both indoor and outdoor. Reservations are available online or by phone. VISA/MC, Discover, American Express accepted. No pets and smoking is permitted outside only. AAA Three Diamond Rating.
